About Us
We believe the best grapplers aren't always the most talented, they're the ones who refuse to quit and enjoy the journey.
Our Mission
We exist because jiu-jitsu after 35 is hard, and pretending you're still 25 makes it harder. Frames Culture celebrates the beautiful disaster of being a real grappler—the sore knees, the three-year blue belts, the tapping to white belts half your age—because the best training sessions aren't always the ones where you win.
We're here to remind every weekend warrior (and Tuesday-Thursday warrior, and person-who-trains-way-too-much warrior) that jiu-jitsu is supposed to be fun, and the worst rolls always make the best stories.
We make minimalist BJJ streetwear shirts you can wear in real life, not only at the gym.
Subtle, insider cues like frames, posture, underhooks, printed with water-based inks on soft, durable tees in muted palettes. Built to pass the coffee-shop test and avoid cringe situations. Our pieces quietly say "I roll" to the right people and just look good to everyone else.
Why "Frames"
In jiu-jitsu, frames are the small adjustments that keep you safe, create space, and set up the next move. Off the mats, they're the details that shape how we live, connect, and carry this culture into everyday life. That's our design philosophy: precise, low-ego, built to last.
What We Make
- Minimal graphics, clean typography, and muted colors (black, navy, gray, ecru).
- Insider references you'll recognize—frames, posture, guard retention—without shouting.
- Soft combed ringspun cotton, water-based prints, and fits that actually fit (men's and women's).
Who It's For
The quietly-obsessed: people who still show up four nights a week, who plan to be here at 55, who choose train tomorrow > win tonight. Coaches, BJJ parents, longtime practitioners, and humble beginners who value competence over theatrics.
Quality Without Drama
You'll feel the difference in the hand, the fit, and the print. We keep the copy short and the details right so you can wear it to work, to errands, and yes, after class.
Soft cotton. Sharp technique. Zero ego.
